Creativity

Creativity, to me, is so much more than just writing. I’ve always been crafty, having tried ceramics to macrame and everything in between. Writing is the ultimate creative expression for me, but I still love to make things. There is something so empowering about seeing a a product I’ve created with my own hands (as opposed to writing, which is creating with my own mind).

So here are a few of my latest altered or scrapbooked creations…

These are the first two pages in my “I’m An Author” scrapbook.

My Love Story memory kit:
My Love Story photo album, magnetic board and keepsake box.

I created this set to donate to an auction, but will be making similar ones (the papers and embellishments will change) as prizes.

The photo album has 12 pages, each with an embellishment and mat for a photo, the magnetic board is 12×12 and the flowers on it are actual magnets. The heart box is the perfect size to keep jewelry or special notes. This particular set was made with BasicGrey Scarlet Letter paper.

Goal Setting Kit:

I altered a notebook, planner and cute index card holder to add to the hunk calendar and Dreams to Realtiy workbook to create this fun Man Plan style goal setting kit.

I used:
Making Memories ‘Brooke’ patterned paper
Making Memroies Jumbo Blossoms
Ranger Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick
Really Big Brads and ribbon I had in my stash.

I’ll be making a half dozen of the kits, no two alike, and will post some more pictures as I finish them.
Here are some pix of a few others I’ve made so far…

Altered checkbook cover for my writing account:

For this I used Prima papers, flowers, heart and ribbon as well as Creative Imaginations narrative stickers and a really big brad. I also used a piece of BasicGrey from the Scarlet’s Letter collection.

I took a piece of Prima – Loving You – and cut it to fit the checkbook cover. Then I cut the BasicGrey about a half-inch smaller all around and inked both with black ink before stuck them together. I layered the Prima flowers and added the brad for a center, then cut the saying stickers to size. It looked a little naked still, so I doodled around the stickers before I added the ribbon along the bottom. The back are small prints of my bookcovers, and a rubon.
