Quick Six with Carla Capshaw

Congratulations to Fedora!!! Fedora, Carla chose your name to win a copy of The Gladiator :-) Just drop me an email with your shipping info and she’ll get that right out to you.

I’m so so excited to welcome an amazing woman, a fabulous writer and one of my favorite people to the blog!! Carla's bookCarla Capshaw writes lush, inspirational historicals for Steeple Hill Love Inspired Historicals, with her debut book, The Gladiator, out this month!!  Carla is the angel to my devil and one of the sweetest people I know, and I’m beyond excited to have here here to chat with us.

Carla’s giving away a copy of her debut novel, The Gladiator, to one lucky commenter!!! So be sure to answer her question in the comments section to be eligible :-)

Alpha, beta or gamma?
Alpha, definitely. I like how strong, determined and dependable an alpha is. Most of all, I love that alphas doesn’t suffer fools gladly and if one loves you, he’ll love you forever. (At least in Romance novels. ;-)

Historical or Contemporary?
Historical. I love history–reading about it, researching it, visiting historical places. I love a book where the Historical setting is a character of its own and not just wallpaper.

Your House or My House?
My house. I’m a hermit. Except to go on vacation, I really try not to leave unless I have to. :-) Not that there’s anything wrong with other people’s houses, I just like being surrounded by my own things, wearing my pjs or snuggling up in my own bed.

Card Games or Board Games?
I thought this was going to be an easy question, but now that I’ve thought about it’s kinda tough. I’m going to go with card games, except for Monopoly. I am my family’s current Phase 10 champion, but my son and I are those crazy kind of Monopoly people where we’ll have a game that goes on for weeks.

Crossword or Word Search?
Crossword. When I travel, I have to have the People Magazine crossword puzzle or it doesn’t feel like I’ve gone on a trip. I like how a crossword makes you think of word possibilities and challenges the definition you think know of a word or phrase.

Reading or Writing?
Writing. I do enjoy reading a good book, but I prefer writing my own since no matter how much I love the book I’m reading I usually want to rewrite the end or something. I guess that means I really am a writer…or maybe I’m just a control freak? I don’t know. I’m just glad I get to be in my characters lives while I’m writing their stories. They really do become real people to me–at least that’s what I tell myself since I have to have some explanation for all those voices in my head. ;-)

Carla’s Question:
Gerard Butler or Robert Pattinson?

Carla Capshaw’s debut novel, The Gladiator, is available in November from Steeple Hill Love Inspired Historical. In January 2010, The Duke’s Redemption, set in Revolutionary War-torn Charleston, SC hits stores. Currently, she’s back in ancient Rome working on a sequel to The Gladiator. She hopes you’ll visit her website: www.carlacapshaw.com to read excerpts of her books and come back often to learn more about her future projects.

I got a sneak peek of Carla’s book and it is amazing. Very sensual in many ways. I LOVE Caros. Hunk, hunk, hunk.

I’m with you on card games, my family loves to play all different card games. I’m the Uno champ in my family.

That’s a tough question, but I’m going to have to go with Robert Pattinson because I liked him in Harry Potter and I like Twligt.
