Obsessions: Tinkerbell
This week’s obsession? Tinkerbell. I adore my puppy. Except, at 3, she’s not really a puppy any longer (shhh, don’t tell her though). She’s a big baby, though. We got her when she was only 6 weeks old. She was the runt of the litter and looked like a darling little grizzly bear. The breeder told us she’d likely always be small -under 70 lbs, which is pretty tiny for a Rottweiler. She was just the cutest little thing and would cuddle up in my lap whenever I sat down. I fell so hard in love with her, I even named one of my heroines after her (Belle in Coming On Strong is named for Tink, while Sierra in Going Down Hard is named for our shepherd *g*)
But the breeder was wrong. At 100 lbs, Tinks anything but a runt. And she still wants to cuttle up in my lap whenever I sit down. Barring that, she settles for sitting on my feet. Or leaning on my legs. Or, well, you know, trying to sit in my lap
Which always makes me smile, because this dog definitely knows what she wants. She’s one of the smartest dogs I know and the gentlest. I don’t think she realizes how big she is, but really, even if she did, she’d probably still do all of this because, well, she’s a little bratty. Not in the big dog growls and is mean to people way. In the spoiled princess diva way. You know, the ‘h
ey, I want attention and love and if I lean my big ole body against your leg, you’ll pet me, awww, aren’t I sweet, kind of way *g* .
Tink just came in and with a nudge of her big head before she dropped it to my lap to stare up at me for cuddles, reminded me of how much I adore her and how lucky we are to have each other to hang out with in the middle of the night when I’m supposed to be writing and she’s supposed to be sleeping.
How about you? Have you ever had a pet that just made your heart melt when it looked up at you?

Awwww, what a cutie! And yes, my kitty Miranda makes me happy. She does the cutest things and gives me looks when she’s naughty that make me forgive her for everything.
LOL Aren’t those looks heart-melters? The ‘yes, I know I was naughty but don’t you adore me’ looks.
My kitty Yoshi has a sad face he gives me ever so often and I just cuddle him. I lost my other cat this past Dec so he doesn’t have his buddy anymore so I think he gets sad every now and then.
Hugs on losing your other kitty, Nicole. Thats so hard. I know the pets who are left behind mourn like we do, but I’m glad you two have each other for company and love still
I soooo know how you feel.. she is gorgeous Tawny
!
Thanks, Petro. I think she knows I blogged about her today. She was being extra cute.
