Exactly!! I heard so many times how crazy I was to think I could write, let alone finish a book. And sell it? Ooh, no way. Try and turn my writing into a career? Yet more detractors. But here I am, happily doing just that and loving every second of it.
Can you think of a time you decided to do something that others warned you was too hard? Were they right? Or were you? And if you were, how did it feel when you proved it to yourself?
As for me, I chose the road not taken…now I’m so frigging lost the GRS beeyouch doesn’t even have a clue where I am. It’s time to pull out a deck of cards and play solitaire because–sooner or later–someone’s going to come along and say, “Lay the red 7 on the black 8.” At which point, I won’t be lost any longer. Or will at least have someone to play cards with.
I remember that thrill of putting The End on my first completed manuscript. I so wanted to say naner-naner to all those people who said it couldn’t be done.
