Castle – Season Finale
Well… wow. I’m equal parts thrilled with last nights show and really sad that the season is over. It’s like starting a great romance novel and only getting to read the first couple of chapters… and then not knowing if the author is even going to finish it! Argh.
But that aside – This episode rocked. The emotional dynamics were fabulous. The father daughter/mother father angle between Castle and Alexis with her first date, first prom, first kiss (le sigh) definitely got me all choked up and remembering how it feels to see my girls growing up. The Martha and Castle angle… FAB. Great advice, its easy to see that the self-absorbed, self-indulgent Martha has strength and depth… just like her son.
The crime was intriguing, definitely, and I wasn’t sure who did it, but thought it was really well set up. And like any romance reader who understands the power of a love triangle, I tolerated the Beckett / Will scenes and can see how the final scene with Castle will push Kate’s relationship with FBI boy into high gear. I really like how Castle manned up, even though he knew what he stands to lose.

I loved the season finale! I’m so bummed that I get no more new Castle until the fall. I’ll be just devastated if Castle doesn’t come back. They can’t leave me hanging like that about what Castle found out about Beckett’s mom. It’s the best new show and a most watch for me.
It is the best, huh, Stephanie! I am so intrigued by the mom-case. I has been playing with plot scenarios for that in my head, wondering what the worst could be (always do the worst to your characters, right?) but like what they look like they are doing much better than anything I came up with LOL.
Fingers crossed we’re celebrating a season 2 soon – we should know next week, I guess.

Ack! I don’t know what planet I’ve been on, but I didn’t realize that was the season finale. I thought there was one more. Man, I hope this is picked up for another season.

From what I’d read, they originally signed for 13 episodes, but early on TPTB (why???) cut it to 10.
I have watched Castle from the beginning and I really can’t believe it’s over. I’m with Trish there that I didn’t even know that this was the season finale! If they don’t pick it up I am so going to be mad at ABC for making it so addictive and then taking it away.
Exactly, Phoebe. I don’t know one person whose watched the show and hasn’t loved it. So they’d BETTER renew it!!! I mean, how rude is it to get people addicted them leave them hanging???
Loved last night’s episode but that cliffhanger ending had me screaming at the TV!

I love this show!! It’s my new fave. I really liked last night’s episode, Alexis is just too cute! And Martha does make sense occasionally! LOL!! And I just love Castle. Such a crazy, fun, stand-up guy. Let Beckett get with FBI boy, she’ll come around, as they always do!!
LOL on FBI boy. I know you’re right, but man, I do wish she’d stayed off the sprinkles! I actually like Martha – she’s just so over the top that its hard not to. I probably wouldn’t have liked her WHEN she was raising Rick, but now that he’s all grown up? They are so fun to watch together.
I loved when Castle saw his daughter in her dress, and when Kate found out her FBI guy had been shot and blamed herself.
Not sure I feel about an overarching mystery, though.
MJ, that scene with his daughter and mother in the dressing room was priceless. What insight this man has into the workings of a woman’s mind!!!
The show has been picked up for a second season. And yeah it was a DAMN good season finale!!

I hadn’t heard that yet – WHOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO Baby!!! More Castle and Beckett. Now lets hope for some hot writer-boy times and less sprinkles *ggg*

ABC has not yet confirmed that they have renewed Castle for a second season. Their schedule should be out later this week.
Well, it’s on the Castle homepage on ABC that it will be coming back. Just finished watching the entire season…. amazing!
