Quick Six with Kate Carlisle

And the winner is: Quilt Lady!! Drop me an email at Tawny@TawnyWeber.com with your shipping info and Kate will get your copy of Homicide in Hardcover out to you!

More Friday Fun with a fabulous Quick Six featuring an incredible author and my fellow Romance Bandit, Kate Carlisle. Kate’s answered six questions below, and asked one of her own. Drop your answers into the comments section for a shot at winning Kate’s book, Homicide in Hardcover!

Plotter or Pantzer? – Plotter…with a caveat. I’m truly a serious plotter who works out every scene and writes an elaborate synopsis, then sits down to write—and everything disappears. I turn into a pantzer, flying through the mist with no idea where I’m going! I guess I’d call myself a schizoplotter. Hey, I just made up a new word. J

Champagne or beer? Champagne! (And I’m such a diva, I must have the good stuff or I just can’t be bothered.)

Fact or Fiction? Fiction.

Gold or Silver? Gold.

Sunset or Sunrise? Sunrise? That’s like in the morning, right? Um, I choose Sunset.

Introvert or Extrovert? – Introvert–unless I’m comfy with a group. Then I’m so extroverted, they want me to shut up!

And here’s Kate’s question to our blog visitors: Flowers or Candy?

  1. Hi Tawny! Thanks for inviting me today! I thought this would be an easy answer — candy, duh! — but my DH brought me a beautiful bouquet of red roses yesterday and it made me sooo happy! I mean, I can go buy candy anytime, right? But flowers … well, there’s just something very sweet and special when a guy shows up with flowers. I’ll be interested to see what others have to say! Happy Friday! :-)

    1. Tawny says:

Awww, I love flowers, too, Kate. And your hubby sounds like a doll. Like you, I can buy myself candy without a second though, but to buy myself flowers? Thats different.

Hugs again on your awesome news – New York Times, baby!!! and thanks so much for coming to visit today!!!

  2. Michele C. says:

Schizoplotter! LOL! I love it, Kate. And I always have a difficult time answering whether I’m an introvert or extrovert, too… I don’t think I fit into either one category or the other. Just depends on which group I’m with! :)

    Congrats on all your success!!!

    Fun post!

    1. Tawny says:

Oooh, I hear that, Michele. Most people would label me an extrovert, but I’d label me an introvert – so its hard to know which label is correct.

  3. Jen Lyon says:

I’m a candy girl all the way! Flowers die off, while candy stays on my hips forever!

Kate, I’m 3/4s of the way through Homicide in Hardcover–I can’t wait to finish it! Love it!

  4. Hi Michele! Welcome to Tawny’s blog! :-)

I think we are somewhat alike when it comes to being introverted, especially around strangers. The difference is, you’re more thoughtful and nice when you finally decide to say something, while I tend to blather away like a loon! LOL

Thanks for the congrats! :-) I’m still in a daze!

  5. LOL, Jen!! You always crack me up! But yeah, since you put it like that, you’re right — candy does last a whole lot longer. Snork!

I hope you enjoy the book!!

  6. Beth Andrews says:

Hey, if it isn’t one of my favorite New York Times Bestselling authors! (And my fave CP *g*)Hi, ladies!

Kate, congrats again on making the NYT list! I have HIH ordered and it should be here tomorrow. I can’t wait to read it :-)

I love when I get flowers! But I love getting candy too. Did I ever mention how wishy-washy I am about picking one favorite of anything? *ggg*

  7. Thanks, Tawny! I love your website, especially your hunk of the month! I hope everyone coming here today takes a minute to check ‘em out and vote for their fave. :-)

  8. Penney says:

Hi Kate, love your book it sounds great.
I love flowers and get plastic ones they last for ever, my girls back when they were 3 and 4 years they picked out a bunch for me and I still have them.
    Penney

  9. Hi Penney! Aww, your girls gave you plastic flowers! That was very sweet and smart of them because they’ll last forever. I have some silk roses by my computer that are very meaningful to me, too. I expect them to last forever, too — as long as I dust them once in a while. ;-)

  10. SEES candy, if you please!! LOL

Kate, LOVE your book and congrats on hitting the NYT!!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. Tawny says:

Oh man. Sees is the best, isn’t it???

    2. Tawny says:

I do love Sees and had to share. I was in the store picking up a box to send out as a prize today and the kid at the counter told me all about a special candy they have coming out for St. Patrick’s Day. Divinity, with a hint of cinnamon, rolled in cocoa powder to resenble a potato. I laughed – but I’ll probably stop in to taste it ;-)

  11. LOL Maureen!! Hi — and thanks!!

Of course we’re talking SEES candy! Duh!! Ooh, I seem to recall that that’s Tawny’s candy of choice, as well. :-)

We’re all women of good taste, obviously!

  12. Fedora says:

Hi, Kate! How fun to see you here! Congrats again on Homicide in Hardcover, and as much as I love flowers, I think I’d go with candy–the good stuff, of course ;) So lovely to be surrounded here by women of excellent taste!

  13. Dianna says:

My fav is flowers, fortunately I have a BF that does that well.
Congrats again Kate on the NYT list. We knew you could do it!

  14. Fedora! It’s great to see you here, too! All the cool kids hang out at Tawny’s place, right? :-)

So you choose candy! You’re a woman of taste, I see. I’ve been raving about Sees Candy, but I wouldn’t turn down a Godiva truffle, either!

  15. Thanks, Dianna! It’s been a real rollercoaster this week! Whew!

See, flowers are wonderful when the BF knows what he’s doing, right? ;-)

  16. Virna says:

    Kate,
Your book sounds fabulous! Congrats! I like flowers, of the just thought of you today kind.

  17. Virna, hi! I think those are the best kind of flowers to get, too! When it’s not a forced or expected thing, like Valentine’s or a birthday, but just a sweet, thoughtful gesture because you’re special. :-)

    1. Tawny says:

*sigh* Now thats romantic, isn’t it? The “I love you” flowers.

  18. pjpuppymom says:

    Hi Kate!

Congrats on all your success with HIH! I’m not one bit surprised that it’s hit the NY Times list. It’s a fantastic book!

I’d probably take flowers. I fill the house with fresh cut flowers all summer and they smell so wonderful. The only exception would be if offered truffles from my favorite truffle shop in Michigan, The Chocolate Garden. Those babies trump everything!

  19. Quilt Lady says:

Hi Kate congrat on your new release! I have been hearing a lot about this book, sounds great1

I guess I would be a candy girl myself, although it adds to my waste. Which doesn’t matter I lost my girlish figure many years ago.

  20. Sneaking in a day or so later to say hello! Hi, PJ! Those truffles sound like heaven! I love those little hidden places that make their own fabulous candy treats. :-)

Quilt Lady, thanks!! LOL on the girlish figure. I keep looking for mine. It’s in there somewhere… :-)

Tawny, belated thanks for a fabulous day!! And thanks for the heads up on the See’s Divinity. Yum, potato shape or not, I won’t miss out on that one!
