Heroes… I think I might be hooked
Okay, so I was only semi-convinced last week that it was worth giving up 45 minutes (tivo, sans commercials) a week of writing time to this new season of Heroes. Intrigued, but not hooked. You know, like when you read a book and the first chapter has you going “hmmmmm, not excited but it doesn’t suck”? Thats how I felt last week. This week, I’m much closer to hooked. I could still throw it agains the wall, of course. Oh wait- thats a book. Okay, I could still stop watching
but I’m intrigued enough to be looking forward to next Monday.
Here’s what I liked:
HRG’s new partner… I cringed at the assignment, and commented to my daughter that I hoped they weren’t going to try and make him all gooey and sympathetic now. I don’t want to like that icky guy, ya know? The scene with the cops almost did me in, I was laughing so hard. But my disdain was solidified when Jesse was slaughtered in front of HRG eyes.
Tracy. I like Tracy. I liked aspects of Nikki- her devotion to her son, for instance. But she was so tortured that it was hard to totally root for her. But so far, I’m really enjoying the Tracy storyline and can’t wait to see how she was “created”.
Sylar as a Petrelli. I’m not sure I believe Angela. She’s quite comfortable lying and manipulating so I’m watching to see how this plays out.
Hiro and his Nemisis. OMG I love that girl. She’s so… well, juvenile LOL. They are perfect together. This is one romance subplot I’d love to watch develop.
What I didn’t like:
Claire.
Claire’s mom’s.
Matt getting the ability to ’see the future’ simply by listening to those headphones. [edit: talking to my daughter I realized he ate something that gave him that ability. But this still bugs me because it make the power seem like a hallucinagenic drug or something, not actual power.]
How about you? Did you watch? What’d you think?

I’m less convinced, but I didn’t like the same things as you and I liked the scene with the cops - OMG. I would love for him to be that guy all the time.

Mary, what parts did you like? I loved that scene with the cops - not only because it was funny but because it showed dimension to Sylar that we never saw before. The villians are getting quite a bit more depth this season, don’t you think?
I just can’t get with the Clair storyline though. She always does things that just seem… well, TSTL.
I’m giggling again this morning over Daphne calling Hiro Pikachu *g*

The first and second of Heroes I loved but this year seems to be a little harder to follow. I not sure I like it as well.

I love Heroes overall. But, I’m not one of those people who watch shows because there are people they ‘love to hate’. I either love or hate, no two ways about it.
