And it’s off… Another book under my belt.
I am so ecstatic! I just finished my April 2009 book - working title: RUNAWAY BRIDE. I’m thrilled. Not only because, well, I’m done (yay) but because I am pretty sure this is my strongest writing yet. The story just flowed, the characters were solid and the love scenes… oh my!!! Lets just say I’m not the only one satisfied here
There is something incredible, yet in a way melancholy about finishing a book. I love being done, I am beyond grateful to be done ahead of deadline. Its such a feeling of satisfaction to know that I did my best and what I ended up with is something I really love. I know, too, that I’ll love it even more after my editor gets her hands on it. Her revision suggestions always rock.
But I’m bumming a little, too. Done means, well, their story is told. Its like when you’re reading a book that you totally love, and you get to those last couple pages. You are excited to read the ending, rooting for the happy ever after, but still, you know your peek into these characters adventure is about to close.
But I have to say, the excitement far outweighs that. I spent today celebrating by lounging in the pool with a stack of magazines, a book, my iPod and iced tea. Five hours and a little too much sun later, and I felt totally relaxed.
Just in time to dive into the next book.
