  1. Carla Capshaw:

Tawny, you’re killing me! How can I choose between Gerry, Gerry & Gerry. Ok, I did finally pick Paranormal, but only because he’s just so darn cute looking like himself instead of a character. Still, the 300 abs and Nim’s Island Indy Jones look have me second guessing myself. Are you sure we can only vote once??

  2. Tawnymwr:

LOL Carla -Yup, ONLY one vote… although you post a strong argument by pointing out those yummy abs. I mean, whats more important in a hero that that???

  3. Victoria Kondovski:

I love the Paranormal hero type. I think they are very interesting and so hot!!

  4. gloria:

    Hi

I love historical hero’s as they are so sexy and easy on the eye. They usually are involved in some hefty adventures. I would have to say that historicals are my favorite hero’s but also like others more modern such as indiana jones but guess that goes back to adventure and sexy.

  5. Charlene:

I voted PARANORMAL So I hope that I am also able to enter this month’s contest LOL

  6. Lori Barnes:

I had to vote for Historical, something about the ruggedness that get’s me every time.

  7. Elizabeth:

I had to go with the paranormal look, although I don’t read them often. I’m drawn more to the historical and contmeporary.

  8. Beth Andrews:

Okay, Carla swayed me with the abs *g*

Great idea for a contest, Tawny! What fun :-)

  9. Kim:

Good gracious, which to choose! The abs make my knees weak, the paranormal gives me hope of an eternal love but, the the rag-tag contemporary hero just makes me giggle. What a fun guy! He’s smart, funny, imaginative, great looking, risk-taking, but still vulnerable (the helicopter ride!) How could you not choose someone that would make you feel safe and still have daily giggles? Did you see the size of those arms? Got to be a chest to match under all that get-up! And then there are the nights……….need I say more?

    Fun contest!!

  10. Janet R.:

My favorite kind of hero is any guy whose willing to protect his woman. Not to mention, must have rugged good looks and oh yeah, gotta love those abs. Whew! I think I need a fan.

  11. Connie:

I chose paranormal because he is so cute and sexy!! But like Carla the others where close, always love cowboys and there is something about those Historical guys too!!

  12. Wilma Frana:

    I vote for Gerry.

  13. JOYE:

I voted for the contemporary hero since I think he looks like an Indiana Jones type what with the hat and the look on his face. And there is nothing more romantic than that type of adventurous guy no matter what century he lives in

  14. Valerie:

I have to go with paranormal, but sheesh…it’s like choosing between chocolate, chocolate, and chocolate…I choose all of the above!

  15. Tawnymwr:

ROFL Valerie! Well, all chocolate is delish, but sometimes you’re in the mood for rich, dark chocolate. Others you want sweet milk chocolate and sometimes you want it poured over ice cream ;)

It looks like our Para hero is leading the race, but barely… those abs are holding their own (and boy would I love to help hold… um, sorry, got distracted)

thanks everyone for the comments so far- every comment (except mine) will be tossed in a hat and my little girl will pick the winner :-) So keep on commenting - I speak with total authority when I say Beth Andrew’s book ROCKS and you definitely want to win it!

  16. Cathy M:

It’s the paranormal hero for me. Passionate, exotic, mysterious, and if they are a shifter, even better.

  17. RommaZ:

I love the paranormal guys. They are full of surprises.

  18. Spot:

Just once I’d like to have a CONTEMPORARY hero in a KILT!

  19. Katie D:

OMG! Gerry could be in rags and would still look fabulous. I picked the Contemporary but the other two are nice too. This is hard. lol It is like trying to choose which of your children is your favorite. You just can’t.

    Katie

  20. Cheryl:

Tough choice because I like fictional heroes from all time periods and walks of life. The man himself transcends the time period. This time I did vote for paranormal even though I don’t read many of those because I liked Gerry’s look better in that picture.

  21. Annie:

Sorry I want a true flesh and blood hero! Not a ghostly one

  22. KB:

Tough choice! I went with HISTORICAL. It is THAT scene in particular that swayed my vote.

“Only one among us keeps his Spartan reserve. Only he. Only our king.”

I dare you to watch and not have your nether regions tingle.

  23. Robin:

Gotta go with contemporary, but it was a tough choice!
    ;-)

  24. Marsha Jones:

A hunk is a hunk, no matter what type he is, but if I had to pick I’d choose Historical.

  25. Christiana:

That is a hard decision to make, I voted for Historical, but it was so difficult to choose. After all I love the contemporary lookin guys too.

    Tiana

  26. Denise:

I went with the historical Gerry. He was so committed to his wife and his country. There has to be something special about a man who’s last thought and words before a most horrible death is about his Queen, his love, and his wife. That scene gets me every time.

  27. Deborah Ann:

What a great site, of course I think any site with Gerard Butler is great. He is wonderful in all those roles, but I must admit the PHANTOM is still my favorite.
Thanks Tawny, am I correct in guessing you receive some of your’ inspiration from Mr. Butler ?????

  28. Angela Cameron:

OMG! Gerry any which way is great! I chose paranormal just because they’re my favorite to write about. In fact, I’m using him as the character picture (for my desk) while I’m writing my new book.

  29. Missy Potts:

Well I voted for historical, but if we are talking about Gerard Butler, then does it really matter??? I’ll take him past present or future! ;-) LOL
    He is just sooo HOT!*sigh*

  30. Rose:

It’s hard to chose when they are all Gerard Butler, but i think the Leonidas Body wins it for me, besides strong brave heroes deserve to come out tops.

    Rose

  31. Hope:

I’m with the chick that wants a contemporary hero in a kilt! I mean, how much confidence (not arrogance) does it take for a modern guy to walk around in a skirt?! The kilt wearers I know are funny, charming, chivalric, MAN’S-MAN kinda guys. There’s something erotic about seeing a guys knees peeking out from beneath a hem. Surely the easy access of a kilt would lend favorably to a contemporary romance passage!

Notwithstanding, I guess I’ll go for the historic character. However, if you’re using Gerard Butler as your muse, you could have him in ANY era and I’d read it! (Just make sure you write in a good “snog”) ;-)

  32. Tawnymwr:

Woot! Looks like its a pretty tight race between historical and paranormal. and LOL Hope, I’d be afraid to steal Gerard as my Muse, for fear that sweet Carla would come after me *g*.

  33. ALEXANDRIA HORYSKI:

Know one can play a historical role like Gerard Butler. I fell in love with Attila over and over in the film. He becomes the character and you are in history.

There can be only one …….Gerard Butler

  34. Margay:

No matter how you dress him up - or down - this is one incredible guy, but I just think he looks better all clean cut. Who wouldn’t want to cuddle with him? And there’s just something about paranormals that’s catching on these days.

  35. Robin:

(this is my 2nd try at this so here goes) I’m a huge fan of Gerard and have seen several of his movies (Dear Frankie, Dracula, Attila, PS I Love You, Lara Croft…) But, I have to say that his King Leonidas character was my favorite. Believe it or not, it was not due to the costume or the ripped body!…a little to muscular for my tastes. It was how he portrayed Leonidas. He was extremely intuitive, strong but vulnerable, he had a sense of humor and a good heart. If only there were real men like that (maybe there are but I haven’t met any) The movie was great!, but my vote is for ‘Best Character’ and always ‘Biggest Hunk’

  36. Annabanana:

Went with contemporary since there were 2 Gerry’s for the price of one in Nim’s. He was equally hot in the other films too so it’s a win-win-win situation!!

  37. Netters:

I love them all. But I had to go with the
    King!! King Leonidas

  38. E:

I would have to go with the historical…only because he is effin’ hot!!! :)

  39. Laurel:

I chose the historical hero. Those were the times when men were strong and brave. Not that there are no strong, brave men left today, but then it was a way of life. They defended what was theirs……honor was not only important to them, but vital. They fought for what they believed in. No negotiations, no trades, no compromises. In Leonidas’ case, it was freedom. It was his family. It was his people. NO retreat…..NO surrender.

  40. Kate:

I chose paranormal, because I would love to find a guy Like Gerry’s character: Loving and thoughtful…Where can i get one like him?

  41. Melanie:

It was so hard to choose! I just decided to do the Eeny Meeny Miney Moe thing because I cannot choose one over the other. Each has his own endearing characteristics and is sexy and beautiful in his own way. Ultimately my choice was Historical, thanks to randomness. But I’d take any of them ANY day!

  42. di:

My fav Gerry character is Dracttila, Dracttila you say?! That was never a Gerry character! Oh, but it was!:-) If you watch The added extras on the Dracula 2000 DVD you will see Gerry’s Audition clips where he has Attila hair while acting as Dracula-Hence, Dracttila!~:-) He’s so darn sexy and intense what a gorgeous man
You get the best of both world’s an immortal barbarian, he can carry you off to his bedroom/coffin;-)
Every night of his looooong sexy life:-)

  43. Sharon Cathcart:

This was very difficult. I loved all three characters so much, but when I got right down to it there was just something so tender about GB’s portrayal of Gerry Kennedy that he won hands-down. (I did think he was sexy as could be as Alex Rover and Leonidas, but Gerry Kennedy just made my heart melt.)

  44. Sherry Takacs:

Since I picture this same man (Gerry) as the hero in every book I read, it doesn’t really matter what type of hero it is! But I went with Historical because I read those type books the most. And the ABS, of course!

  45. Danielle:

Gerard Butler… OMG! Did someone mention chocolate, icecream and Gerry in the same sentence? LOL Right there, that’s quite a fantasy! *drools* Forget the icream and the chocolate, I’ll take Gerry just as he is! LOL

Ok… out of the gutter I come. I chose contemporary, not because of the Indiana Jones look, but because I just like Gerry out of character, charming, witty, funny, spontaneous, a real man, sexy… Back to the gutter I go! LOL

  46. Lisa:

I’d take Gerry no matter what costume you put him in. But to me, a contemporary hero, one you can relate to and see in Gerry everyday, is the one for me. But Gerry as himself is the real hero. So glad to see him featured!!

  47. Lola:

That was a hard pick!! But I go with the primal type of guy. And that’s how I discovered the man, so, definitely a favorite!

  48. Patsy:

Wow, I suprised myself…didnt think I could choose but the King won my vote!

  49. sabrys:

I loved all the heros posted because I’m a Gerry’s fan and I love all his characters…this time I choose the contemporary one :)

  50. GerrysJewel:

Oh, my….Gerry, Gerry & more Gerry! Great Poll!!!

This required no thought what-so-ever on my part. I am a historical romance junkie! So I will take the Historical Gerry (hero) any day! My favorite, heart-stopping, breath-paralyzing, thud-factoring historical role of Gerry’s was the Phantom in 2004 Joel Schumacher’s movie, “Phantom of the Opera”. No other character has stirred me so in many different dimensions.

    Bring on the historical hero!

  51. Stacie:

I think this may have been the most difficult poll I’ve ever had to vote on. How can you pick between Gerry, Gerry and Gerry? But I did finally decide on Leonidas. He did make my heart pound the most out of the three. Sexy, strong and gorgeous. Great idea for a poll!

  52. Songbird:

No other actor can portray historical characters as well as Gerry can! It’s as if he’s lived in another lifetime and has first hand knowledge of being inside the minds of these historical heroes in order to adeptly portray them. Additionally, Gerry rides a horse and wields swords, spears and shields as if they are an extension of himself. And that is HOT!

  53. Hope:

I love all of Gerard’s work, why was the Phantom not
on the poll? That is the most sexy romantic role and
his sexy voice, because of the way that Gerry brought it to life, the
the men before Gerry made the Phantom so un desired and so wimpy.

  54. Chris:

I love anything Gerry! That being said, I picked Paranormal Gerry because in his performance he made you feel the depth of his love for Holly and the fact that during the most difficult time of his life while dying he planned for her future without him. Talk about soul mates and true love! Gerry was at his most adorable ever!!!

  55. Debbie:

Such hard choices!! I love him any way I
    can get him..
But I think paranormal Gerry makes my heart
beat faster casue he looks most like himself.
    God that man is beautiful!
    Debbie

  56. Anny:

I choose the historical hero because,in my opinion, Leonidad is the character that showed the acting qualities of Gerry at his best.

  57. Raphaela Joao:

I go with the paranormal, because he has everything - althought he’s dead =|.

  58. Susan~Sporran:

I was linked here from GerardButlerGALS where I’m an admin, so you’d better believe I’m a HUGE fan of Gerry’s. I’m also a pretty contemporary person, happy existing in today rather than yesterday or tomorrow, so I picked the contemporary hero, Alex Rover (even if he was doubly-fictional). The first time I saw that picture of Gerry as Alex last November I claimed him as mine, mine, mine. Honestly, I love Gerry in just about any role (with or without the abs) but best of all is just as himself, the oh-so-sexy, sometimes goofy, charming, funny, intelligent, compassionate, exceptionally talented, super-hot-Scot. Thanks for picking him as your hunk of the month (but for me he is the hunk of EVERY month)!

  59. shamrocked:

    Gerry, Gerry, or Gerry!
Are you kidding? I have to choose just one? !!! I want Gerard Butler in any form or manner but having to choose one it will be the Historical Gerry, willing to give all for his Love…sigh…What a special man, the actor and individual, Gerard Butler!

  60. Raphaela Joao:

The paranormal is a lot more real than the other ones…funny, smart, with a boyish way to live his life…I love that and there’s nothing better for a hero than that kind of quality.

  61. Michelle:

I am always a sucker for paranormal hero. Gerry’s Dracula is one of my favorite ones. I would so be his Mary, if he wanted me to.

  62. Icy:

Well, I chose Paranormal Hero, because he is more close to my ideal type of man.

  63. Donna:

The “G” MAN—what ever role, past, present, future to come, he has conqured all that he has portrayed with his natural skills, mind, body & those LOOKS, {those green eyes} VOICE,singing etc… & he’s the best thing in FILMS to come along in a long time!!!!! Surpass’s all the “actor’s” in this decade, by a long shot!!!!! LOVE YOU Gerry!!!! You really snuck up on us Females!!! Agree with all the above statements too!

  64. Bella:

I adore Gerry Kennedy and the entire PSILY storyline, but I prefer to read stories where the character is a historical hottie -especially a ship’s captain! ~swoon~ Can’t you just see Gerry in tall black boots, tight pants and a white poet shirt??

~le sigh~ Great question though, it was hard to choose between three very different, but tasty choices!!

    ~B

  65. Donna:

    OOPS: I chose contemporary man—Donna

  66. stella:

I like it when my choice is Gerry, Gerry or Gerry. How can I go wrong? But I’m going with paranormal Gerry. And to ‘paraphrase’ Holly’s sister - I wish I had a dead guy that looked like that telling me what to do. LOL

  67. Kristine:

I just love Gerry!! He’s a remarkable actor and just the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen. He did a great job in the 300 and I really liked the movie. I love historical stories and really enjoy escaping to another place and time. I loved the story of the 300.

    Thanks!

  68. Ann:

I like all three characters played by Butler, but I enjoyed Alex Rover because I found him to be lighthearted and funny.

  69. Poppy:

    Very difficult to pick indeed.
I love history….so I picked Gerry in the historical
sense. But, lets face it….I love Gerry in any role he takes on. He is a true professional and always gives 110 percent!

  70. Linda:

I’ll take Gerry any way I can get him, but contemporary would be my first choice. See him in The Jury, Dear Frankie or Laura Croft Cradle of Life. All great contemporary characters and all so different. The man is a chameleon. Amazing.

  71. Linda:

But, I could be persuaded to the paranormal side if Gerry showed up as Dracula in that long black coat. I have fantasies about him in that long black coat. HOT!

  72. Amy:

It was a tough choice, but for some reason my heart was pulled to Gerry as King Leo…..Gerry is amazing in all of his roles, but he put so much hard work into King Leo in 300…..and the fact that the man he played was a real person is awesome too…..of course Gerry never does wrong in my eyes….as far as I’m concerned there is no one better at was he does…..in one word…perfection.

  73. Andrea:

Gotta love those historical heroes…Leonidas, Marek, Attila,Beowulf. Strong, fearless and exceptionally handsome to boot!

  74. gillianfey:

Sometimes life is not fair and you have to choose, so I tossed coins and came up with paranormal, possibly the most like the actor’s actual persona. Historical and contemporary are equally compelling. In fact, Gerard Butler is compelling. May he have a long and illustrious career.

  75. Paisleygirl:

    Historical Gerry, baby!

I figure that since sperm counts have dropped drastically lately, men were more manly and lusty back then.

Riding horses, hand to hand combat, rolls in the hay.

    What not to like?

  76. Paisleygirl:

    Reasons for choosing Historical Gerry:

    1. Historical underwear…what did guys wear back then?

    2. Historical sex…had to be hotter and oftener, I mean look at all the kids people had.

    3. Historical accents…if we drool over his Scottish accent now, think how much much intense older accents would be.

    4. Historical lighting…kinder to the ladies, and also refers back to #2, less electricity means more bed time, and candlelight is more sexy.

    5. Longer hair on men does it for me.

  77. Tawnymwr:

WOW!!! Methinks Carla picked some hot hunk choices this month :-) GO Carla! I’m loving all the reason why Gerry is hot in any ‘genre’ and have to ask -outside of sexy Gerry movies, what reading genre does everyone like best? Same choices - Historical, Contemporory and Paranormal :)

  78. G:

Although the Phantom was not one of the pictured choices, I am going with historical since presumably that would be where he would fall.

(Gerry’s historical characters sometimes seem to be better dressers than than the real Gerry, too!)

  79. Paisleygirl:

In the romance genre I prefer contemporary, then historical. But if the writing is more erotica, I am good with paranormal, robots, aliens, beasts, you name it.

  80. Paisleygirl:

Linda, about Gerry playing Drac in that long black coat…

He sure pulled off the bare chest with coat look.

That could be a new style, like Miami Vice and the pastel/tshirt with suit look.

I agree Gerry was totally paranormal crush worthy with that look.

  81. Tawnymwr:

Paisleygirl - love your taste in genres :) and LOL on the newly improved Miami Vice fashion!

  82. Rachelle:

I voted for contemporary but the others came in very close, I had a really hard time choosing but in the end the whole Indiana Jones thing won out. Rugged, good looking. Plus he made me laugh which is a huge turn on.

  83. Robin:

After reading all the comments and enjoying the different perspectives!, I still love Leonidas BUT what about a contemporary Gerry (the real Gerry from Scotland) in a KILT??? Had that been a choice, I might have gone with that one. Something about a man in a skirt! But everyone is right, Gerry, Gerry or Gerry- very hard choice, how about ALL of him.

  84. Celine McGuire:

Hmmm that was a tough one but I’m a sucker for a good codepiece, Historical won me over! The “me man”, “you woman” thing gets me everytime hmmmmmm

    Great site!!

    Celine x

  85. Mary:

Leonidas!! How can anyone resist those eyes!

  86. Susan~Sporran:

My preferences in reading are similar to my preferences in Gerry characters. My favorites tend to be contemporary, with very hot masculine men (whom I always picture as Gerry) and strong independent women (Linda Howard, Nora Roberts). I love it if there is some humor in the mix (Katie MacAlister and Janet Evanovich). I don’t mind a little paranormal thrown in, and I also have a fondness for good historical romances (especially if set in Scotland like the Outlander series). Jennifer St. Giles’ Kildaren series is a favorite, with a mix of contemporary-minded women, each with a paranormal gift yet set in a time long-past. I’m currently reading Karen Marie Moning’s Highlander series. So I do like to mix it up a bit whether it’s reading, or enjoying a good Gerry movie!

  87. jeano:

I voted for the historical hero. Just as in the books I read, I love an historical romance. Gerry is just plainly a hero no matter what kind.
Gerry is King Leonides, he owns that role!!!

  88. Pat Cochran:

I voted for the contemporary hero/hunk because of
    the Indiana Jones look!

    Pat Cochran

  89. Linda CW:

I voted Historical. Gerard Butler is an awe-inspiring actor, his portrayal of historical characters is exceptional.

  90. JD Suydam:

I go for the paranormal. I have a better chance of maybe meeting someone that way the way my life goes. The other heros are stupendous, especially when played by Gerry. It is hard to choose, but in the paranormal, he never stops loving her. I like that.

  91. Dark Angel:

I had to pick Alex Rover from ‘Nim’s Island’. As much as I love Gerry as King Leonidas and as Gerry (P.S. I Love You), Alex Rover was hilarious to watch. I couldn’t stop giggling whenever Alex Rover was on screen!

    Cheers!

  92. shamrocked:

You wanted to know what my fav is for reading genre. Historical romance gets me every time. I am just bored with modern romance stories. A well- researched Highlands or Irish historical with lots of action and humor(and I do mean in bed as well as otherwise) will get my $.

  93. sophie:

I will take Mr. Butler any way I can get him. He’s a wonderful actor and can do any of the three choices very well. They all have qualities that would make them a good choice but I chose contemporary just because I like the way he looks and acts naturally. No fancy costumes, no fancy hair and no fancy makeup. Just a very nice looking man who can act circles around just about anybody.

  94. Charlotte:

Had to vote for Leo. Gerry brought such strength, believability and charm to the character! Those qualities combined with those killer abs, I just couldn’t help myself.

  95. Kathy:

Oh dear, this was hard. BUT, I had to go with historical hero. Gerry does them so well.Besides Leonidas in “300″ Gerry was superb as Beowulf in “Beowulf and Grendel” and he was also great as “Attila.” There are so few men in Hollywood who can play an historical hero with such believability as Gerry. He’s the best! What an actor! He has such versatility. That’s why it is hard to pick just one kind of hero. Gerry’s definitely the hunkiest romantic hero in my eyes! He can sure wield a sword like he means it.

  96. Beta Girl:

Oh my! So hard to choose, and in reality, we’d take Gerry any way we could get him! Our vote for Gerard Butler as hunk of the month is a no brainer, because he is our number one Alpha Male at Beta Girl Blog!

  97. Stacey Seyler:

Okay so I went for the Historical Hero. That’s because I admire a guy who can kick ass and be what a man should be…Strong, protective, and a bit sensitive. (and besides, Alpha Males are hot.)

  98. Nathalie:

Oh my God ! So hard to choose between these three ! Personally, I would choose them all, spend a week with each of them then I think I would be able to decide… maybe not ???

So if I have to give a reason I choose the paranormal one is because he’s the only one who looks like him right now… By the way, where’s the Phantom ?

  99. Beatrice:

I go for Historical…The Phantom is the role that made fall in love with the man and I’m a goner for rich period costumes!

  100. Cecilia:

Gerry is THE MAN! I had to choose, so I voted for historical hero: Gerry-Leonidas is the man of my dreams…

  101. Bre:

Although it was a really hard choice, I went with the Paranormal because not only does Gerry live on after death, but because he is so romantic and caring that he still sweeps you off of your feet even after he’s gone.

  102. Carole Milbauer:

What a tough choice! Paranormal won out, though. There was just something so endearing and sexy and lovable and sexy about Gerry Kennedy. Everyone deserves to be loved like he loved Holly, at least once in their life.

  103. Laura:

The choice has been really hard, I love all the three types of hero, but my favourite is surely the paranormal. He is sooo sweet!

  104. Jai:

Okay, so even though I drool every time I see those god forsaken abs, I couldn’t pick that character. lol He’s just so…Gerry-ish I guess in the paranormal role. He’s a sweetheart and a romantic!! And he sticks relatively close to his own accent and that’s just plain SEXY!

  105. lucy:

those are all TOUGH choices. literally…i’d take ANY of ‘em.

i picked gerry kennedy purely because i’m a romantic and that movie made me cry! the phantom wasn’t on there, or i would’ve picked that.

but ALL gerry characters are great!

  106. Robin:

OK, so I left work early today (I’m self employed) just so I could get a copy of ‘PS I Love You’ before they were all gone. This time I was determined NOT to cry through the whole movie (like I did in the theater) and I didn’t. Gerry was breathtaking as usual, and I do love that movie but I’m still sticking with King Leonidas, after all, you can’t TOUCH paranormal.

  107. ejinks:

Was so hard to pick just one. I did pick contemporary but I like Gerry, no matter what type of part he takes. He is hot, hot, hot and I am completely smitten with the man. Don’t tell my husband cause he is jealous.:-)

  108. ejinks:

Gerry is so hot, no matter what type part he plays. Am nuts about the man and see all his movies.

  109. Soulcatgirl:

    Ok how about(breaths name)~ Marek ~. He’s a packaged deal(blinks), he’s contemporary, historical and a paranormal(in the sense he’s jumping centuries)..he makes a grand hero… but alas he’s not here so I went with Gerry Kennedy ;))
Chants Gerry Gerry Gerry…yummy. Thanks Tawny for evoking Gerry as the hunkiest of the hunks… ;)

  110. Jill James:

I love a paranormal hero. There is something mysterious about a man with ‘extra’ abilities. LOL

  111. Poppy:

wow, another “Poppy” on your blog. Weird. I’ll go for the paranormal hero. Can’t get past the historical heroes probably never bathing and the contemporary heroes are often holding a baby.

  112. Tammy:

Paranormal seemd the most ‘romantic’ but if there was an option to write in my favorite Gerry Butler character it would be ‘as himself’.

  113. Dawn:

Gerry, Gerry and Gerry, hmmmmm, I think I’ll choose…
All of them of course in one great big package dipped in chocolate. LOL. I picked historical because I love those old stories. I loved all 3 characters but I have to keep going back for the abs in 300.I do finally have my copy of P.S. I Love You and we’ll see how long it takes for me to watch as many times as 300.
    Great contest.
    Thanks

  114. WinterAngel:

I have to agree that all three looks are AWESOME. The Historical Men I have been swoon’n over one for many years, The Phantom. (Now if The Phantom was on the voting poll I would’ve voted only for him but alas it was not to be.) For Paranormal, I have one word, Geracula,(hubba hubba). But my heart now lies with the Contemporary Man. I mean there’s Terry, Andre, Alex, Creedy, Jack, Neil, Jackie, Johnnie, and my peronsal favorite The Stranger, (am I missing any one?). Each one has irresistable qualities and you have more chances of meeting people who are like these contemporary hunks in real life.

  115. Tracy:

Wow!What a horrible/wonderful thing to do! I wanted to enter Gerry Butler, however I chose ‘Historical’. These roles exude a raw sense of self, intelligence, vitality, and strength. Wrap him as a blanket and the rest of the world would simply melt away. Add in pure, raw, sensuality and ……You’re lost in time.

  116. Erika:

After loads of contemplation i chose the paranormaal hero since that seemed most romantic of them all for me!!! But it was tough to choose from Gerry, Gerry, and Gerry!!!!

Thanks for this it was fun!! :D

  117. Kelli:

I have to say historical hero. But I think by limiting our choices to Leonidas, Alex Rover, and Gerry Kennedy is doing a disservice to the nuanced performances of his other heroes. What about Andre Marek- time-traveling hero- you get the best of both worlds with historic and contemporary. Or my favorite-The Stranger- just when you need him hero. Or what about the anti-heroes that we still love like Terry Sheridan- he’ll save you, but can you trust him, The Phantom-kidnaps you then, unleases your passion, Dracula-utterly seductive and dangerous. Oh the multitude of yummy roles Gerry has played. How do we love your abs….and chest….and shoulders….and face….and smile…. is it hot in here?

  118. Mari:

I have to go with the paranormal hero. Gerry Kennedy’s zest for life seems more like the real Gerry. But my favorite GB movie is still Phantom of the Opera.

  119. Tammy Sinclair:

I like the paranormal hunk. Just so mysterious!

  120. Ellen:

I went for Historical as I’m a sucker for those period-piece costumes. And he wears them all to perfection. After Attila, Leonidas, Phantom, Beowulf, lets hope Burns is on the horizon. He will be magnificent in those outfits. Just wishful thinking in overdrive I guess. Thanks for the great Poll.

  121. kaisquared:

I like the Paranormal because they can be very old heros incorporating the best of the Historical hunks but living in contemporary times (must have good indoor plumbing to look hot in the shower), with that extra something that only telepathy/supernormal staying power/telekinesis can bring to lovemaking.

  122. Minna:

    I love paranormal heroes!

  123. Bridget Jones:

I went for the contemporary hero as that’s the mood i’m in at the minute :) If i were a dmasel in distress, Alex Rover would be my kind of hero - i think it’s the boots and whips!

  124. Janice Darden:

Leonides saying, “Yes, m’lady” or Alex saying, “Be the hero of your own life” (with the brogue) or Gerry Kennedy saying, “Ah, Holly” while he’s kissing her. Gerry puts a little bit of himself in each character he plays. Can I have a Hist-empora-normal Gerry? Okay, okay, then I’ll take the Paranormal because I think (IMO)this one is closest to the “real” Gerry. And real Gerry would be quite a treasure to behold!

  125. Dianne:

How to choose. I voted for contemporary, because I love seeing Gerry play a role that is so much like his own persona. Thanks for the photos-decisions, decsions-oh my!

  126. RobynL:

I chose contemporary; I still like the heroes from them. They redeem themselves, protect loved ones and are strong and hunky.

  127. Kathy:

When a hero is willing to give everything for those he loves, I find that incredibly romantic and wonderful. Gerry played the part very well.

  128. Sherrell:

You have made this a very difficult choice. I love them all, but the paranormal hero is something a lot of us look for. The thought of a man like this is every womans dream. To be loved like this is truly rare. To have a man care for you with such compassion, sense of humor and honesty. Who would p
