Monday’s Quote
So often time it happens, we all live our life in chains, and we never even know we have the key. ~The Eagles, “Already Gone”
I love this quote. It reminds me of the Devil card in the Tarot. My favorite of this image is in the Robin Wood deck, of a couple chained to a large box of treasure, trying to escape toward the freedome and beauty at the end of a cave, but unwilling to give up their perceived bounty. It always makes me stop and think - what am I tying myself to that is causing stress, making me miserable. Almost always, its a choice to continue with a certain pattern, a certain belief or attitude that feeds the stress.
How about you? Have you ever escaped a situation that you later realized you’d always had the key out of?

Work is a tricky one for me. I was once in a situation that made me miserable for over two years. I tried to get out of it, but was told basically to suck it up. It took me another year before I finally said I’d rather quit than put up with it anymore. So I know I always had the key, but sometimes using the key, for quite good reasons, has to be the last resort.
