Writing Challenges

Thanks to my friend, Tammy, I joined the 70 Days of Sweat writing challenge. The concept is similar to NaNoWriMo (which thanks to my friend Karin I joined as well) in that you have 70 days to finish a manuscript. This works for me since I want my current WIP, TIE ME DOWN, completed by the end of the year. Not difficult, really (I have about 30 pages so far *g*) except that I will have revisions on RISQUE BUSINESS in there somewhere as well as promo for DOES SHE DARE?. Still -I love a challenge so I couldnt’ resist when my friends dangled that “dare you” challenge.

So today is really the first day of the 70 Days one for me since I’ve been off being pampered and spoiled at my mom’s for the last week or so – and I logged in to read the most fabulous post on Fear and pushing yourself to greater heights. Now, dont’ get me wrong, in real life I’m a pansy. But in writing, I love to push myself. To step outside the comfort of writing what I know I can do and trying to go a little further, a little stronger. I really pushed the ole comfort zone with RISQUE BUSINESS and am waiting on pins and needles to hear from my editor if it worked or not.

How about you? Do you enjoy pushing the envelope? In writing or in life -what are you currently doing that pushes you outside that comfy safe place and into having to prove (at least to yourself) that you’re more than you thought?

Every day that I sit down to my laptop I’m pushing the comfort envelope. It still amazes me that I sit down and write a “whole” book, let alone the four whole ones I have now. LOL

I don’t think that I’ve found my inner envelope pusher yet. LOL. If and when I do, I’ll be sure to let you know.

I’m glad you got on the 70 days thing – I’ve been totally wimping out on it… which sucks beings I have so much I should be getting done.

Welcome home though, and hope you had a great time!
