Conference Prep

I’m in a tizzy. Usually, by two weeks before conference I’ve got my wardrobe ready, my pitches honed and my schedule color-coded.

This year, my only accomplishment to date is the color coded schedule (finished that tonight). I still need to finish preparing all of my promotional supplies, crafting my Dare Survial Kits, find clothes (so NOT in the mood this year) and as happy as I am not to be pitching (never my idea of fun) I’d take that in a heartbeat over writing my parts of the workshops I’m doing.

Because, believe me, public speaking is totally NOT my idea of a good time. I’m giving a workshop with my editor and two other Blaze authors on How To Stand Out in the Slush Pile that I thought I’d be nervous about, but so many of my friends have assured me they’d be there to watch that the nerves are fading. But I’m speaking with the awesome Dianna Love Snell at the PRO retreat on: Agents, the questions to ask before you sign. I wasn’t even thinking of nerves over that one until someone mentioned the audience is about 500. OMG.

Color me yellow, I’m such a scardy cat! For now, all I can do is write my blurbs and practice, right? But - as I write up my blurbs, any advice on how to make it easier?

I’ll be at the PRO retreat. Does that make it any easier? Probably not. LOL But, you rock, so I know you’ll do great.

LOL Jill - thanks. Sit up front, kay?
