New Playlist

Filed under: Writing Stuff, Fun Stuff — March 28, 2007 @ 5:46 am

I’m working on RISQUE BUSINESS first few chapters and have been getting together the playlist for this story. My process is to let the iPod shuffle through my entire music library as I start the story, dragging songs into the new playlist as they click with the story or seem to hit a beat that makes me want to write. Then by the time I’ve completed the partial, I’ve got a solid playlist to use for the rest of the book. It comes in handy, for instance, after the story is done and I’m going through revisions like I am with DOES SHE DARE - I just hit that particular playlist and am right back in the story!

So - RISQUE BUSINESS playlist is…

Truly Madly Deeply - Savage Garden
Anything Goes - Guns N Roses
Luv Lies - Aerosmith
Landslide - Fleetwood Mac
Someday I’ll be Saturday Night - Bon Jovi
Have You Ever Seen the Rain - Creedance Clearwater Revival
Photograph - Nickelback
Every Rose Has it’s Thorns - Poison
Here I Go Again - Whitesnake
I’m A Believer - Smashmouth
More Than Words -Extreme
Someday - Nickelback
Stoy of my Life - Bon Jovi
Funky Monks -Red Hot Chili Peppers
Fly Away Home -Aerosmith
Love Song -Tesla
Under the Bridge- Red Hot Chili Peppers
Patience - Guns N Roses
Rock Star - Nickelback
Iris - Goo Goo Dolls
Say It Ain’t So - Bon Jovi
Jaded - Aerosmith
I Put A Spell On You - CCR
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Houses of the Holy - Led Zepplin

Your playlist looks like mine…I can’t write without music. Its my muse.

  2. Tawnymwr:

I hear ya, Lee! I have to have music. Partially because I write in the family room, often surrounded by people so it’s my psuedo island effect LOL. But mostly because the music becomes a key to transporting into the story for me.
