Favorite things about winter…

I realize winter is still a few weeks away, but its starting to chill down here in sunny California. The last few nights have been filled with fog, and its definitely becoming slipper weather (as opposed to bare foot weather the rest of the year).

My daughter and I were talking tonight about what we love about winter. Cuddling under a blanket to read is one thing. Another is hot chocolate - or better yet, a big pot of homemade soup (I’m making potato leek soup in the morning) and homemade bread. We actually love the holidays, so that part is good -and the fact that we have a lot of winter birthdays.

Bundling up is nice, especially with the darling scarves that are all the rage this season. Boots always rock, and they are best in winter. And then there is the fog. I love fog.

I tell my daughters that fog is dragon’s breath. They laugh, but it adds a little romance, and maybe a hint of magic, to the winter months as they watch to see if the Dragons will be around.

What’s your favorite part of winter?

I have no favorite part of winter. I’m very much a summer person. I hate being cold unless I’m out in the snow. Not gonna happen in the Bay Area. Okay, once or twice over the past 40 years, but still. LOL

Okay, I’m not sure if it counts as winter if the sun shines all the time and it never gets below like what? 70? 60 on the coldest day???? You should come visit me & I’ll show you winter. Of course, the gals up north could show me a thing or two about winter, too. :) I sooooo don’t enjoy the winter months. The snuggling by the fireplace is nice, but I sooooo don’t like to be cold.
