Creativity

What do you do to keep your creative fires burning? I mean, if you write, besides that?

I am a crafter from way back. I was doing ceramics as a teen, latch hook, macrame, all kinds of stuff. Over the years, I’ve turned some of it into profit (craft fairs, OMG the memories), mostly its been a release.

After we bought our home, the house itself became a craft project LOL. My husband will tell you we’ve lost serious square footage to all the painting I do - I’m big on faux finishes and seem to have to change the decor on a regular basis. Probably because this house is the longest I’ve ever been in a single place. When we moved in, I unpacked and neatly broke down the boxes to store in the rafters. My husband, whose parents are still in the house they bought when he was ONE, asked why -and patiently explained that we weren’t ever moving again. Never.

It took me awhile to recover from the shock, but now I keep things fresh by redecorating and gardening :)

But the last few years, I’ve found a new form of creative outlet.

Scrapbooking. I love it. Seriously, its like multi-tasking to the nth degree. Stress relief, creating something beautiful, expression and finally sorting and displaying all those boxes of photographs.

I’ll have to scan and share some of my layouts.

What do you do, creatively, that inspires you?
