Conference -Day Two

Filed under: Fun Stuff, Friends, Writing Life — August 1, 2006 @ 3:49 pm

Thursday was my “lets be a nervous wreck” day

First off, I was supposed to meet my awesome Ghopher pals for breakfast. The Ghophers are the 04 GH finalists (get it - gh04 but I was sooo tired and nervous about moderating my first ever workshop, I slept through the first alarm.

So I started my day with the moderating session at 9:45. Crime in Mind with Karin Tabke and Rae Monet. It was awesome. A great workshop, standing room only. Lots of solid FBI and cop info and really fun presenters. I barely got nervous -which was probably helped by the fact that Karin and Rae are in my local chapter and two of the nicest ladies I know.

After that, I met with Play Pals in the coffee shop to compare schedules, jack up the caffiene intake, then I had a lunch appt with my Editor (yay) and another author, Mara Fox (check out her latest Blaze - Letting go - it rocks). It was awesome -totally awesome. As in, discussing more books, promotion, New Faces of Blaze, things that had my head spinning. I was thrilled. And pretty airy (I hate that, but I’ll get better). It was like dream come true overload or something.

The rest of the afternoon is a little blurry but I had conflicting meetings with the Wild Cards (05 GH finalists) and my From The Heart chapter - I’d been warned to be at the FTH gig because they had something special for the current GH finalists, so I hit that first hoping to still meet up with the Wild Cards (which I never did do )

After the FTH party was the Welcome Reception and then the Golden Network reception and boot out - which was so awesome it deserves it’s own post - so that’ll be tomorrow.

In the meantime -here’s a picture of some of us GH finalists receiving corsages FTH gig…

In writing news- the revisions are done done done. I read through beginning to end and made note of any leeeetle changes, and have them keyed into the computer. Its all printing now -cross your fingers for me that they are a hit!!!
